Movie box office results:"Cells at Work" tops box office for 4 consecutive weeks, tops box office gross by 4.1 billion yen; "Grand Maison Paris" starts in 2nd place

According to the movie attendance rankings for the 3rd to 5th of January announced on January 6th (surveyed by Kogyo Tsushinsha), " Cells at Work" (directed by Hideki Takeuchi ), a live-action adaptation of the popular manga by Akane Shimizu featuring characters that are personified human cells, topped the list for the fourth consecutive week. Over the three-day weekend, it attracted an audience of approximately 466,000 people and brought in box office revenue of approximately 641 million yen, an even higher figure than the previous weekend. Cumulatively, it attracted 3.07 million people and brought in box office revenue of over 4.1 billion yen.

Among the debut works, "Grand Maison Paris" (directed by Ayuko Tsukahara), starring Takuya Kimura, attracted about 409,000 people over the three-day weekend and recorded a box office revenue of about 613 million yen, ranking second. Since its release on December 30, 2024, the cumulative number of viewers has exceeded 960,000, and the box office revenue is approaching 1.4 billion yen. "Beekeeper," an action film by director David Ayer and actor Jason Statham, started off in seventh place.

"Moana 2" (directed by Dave Derrick Jr. et al.), which is in its fifth week of release, came in third with an audience of about 325,000 people and a box office income of about 431 million yen over the three-day weekend. In total, it has attracted 3.1 million people and made over 4.1 billion yen.

In fourth place was "The Lion King: Mufasa" (directed by Barry Jenkins), which attracted a total of 1.08 million viewers and grossed over 1.5 billion yen. In fifth place was "Doctor X: The Movie FINAL" (directed by Naoki Tamura), which attracted a total of 2.01 million viewers and grossed over 2.7 billion yen.
