The first episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama, "Arigatayama no Kangarasu", will be broadcast on January 5th with an extended 15 minutes. This is the first time that this long-running Taiga drama will depict the mid-Edo period. Here, we will introduce Hananoi (Segawa V), played by Fuka Koshiba.

Hananoi is Tsutae's childhood friend and a "legendary" courtesan.

She is the leading prostitute at Matsubaya, a long-established brothel in Yoshiwara. Sold by her parents at a young age, she grew up in Yoshiwara with Tsutaya Juzaburo, and is a childhood friend who can talk to her about anything. While helping Tsutaya and sometimes being helped by him, she works hard to restore the Yoshiwara where they grew up together.

Eventually, for certain reasons, she inherited the stage name of a legendary courtesan, "Segawa," which had been lost for a long time, and her name became known throughout the city of Edo.

Segawa V is known as a "famous courtesan" whose story of being demoted for 1,400 ryo and her subsequent tragic life is passed down in plays and other media as a "legendary" courtesan.

"UNBOUND" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
