Singer Yoshimi Tendo appeared at the rehearsal for the 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen(General and other channels) held at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo on December 28th, and revealed her challenges for next year.
Tendo mentioned that 2025 marks the 100th year of the Showa era, and declared, "Next year will be the 100th year of the Showa era, so I will be challenging myself to sing 100 songs. The stage has already been decided. It will start in November, and I will do it for one day. I will sing 100 songs."
When asked by a reporter "How do you think it will turn out?" Tendo replied, "I'm conflicted right now. If I don't start now, November will be here soon, so I can't back out. I said 100 songs, but I wonder if that's okay. But it will be okay. I have so many songs I want to sing with the audience, and everyone is surprised that I'll say 100 songs, but it might be over in the blink of an eye, so I'm going to give it a go."
The 75th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen will be broadcast on December 31st from 7:20pm to 11:45pm (with some news breaks). Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Kanna Hashimoto, Sari Ito, and announcer Naoko Suzuki will be the hosts.
