A promotional video for the "Yosuga Arc" arc, which follows the "Shimane Illuminati-hen" and "Yuki no Hate-hen" arcs of the TV anime "Blue Exorcist," based on the manga by Kazue Kato that is currently being serialized in "Jump SQ." (Shueisha), has been released on YouTube. "Yosuga Arc" is an episode in which the secret of the birth of the Okumura brothers is revealed, and the promotional video shows the Okumura brothers' mother, Yuri Egin, who makes her full appearance, the brothers' foster parent, Shiro Fujimoto (as a child), who makes his first appearance, and Yuri's friends Rick and Jenny. "Yosuga Arc" will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from January 4, 2025.
Additional cast members were also announced, including Daisuke Namikawa as Shiro Fujimoto's childhood, Miyu Irino as Rick, Ryo Hirohashi as Jenny, and Megumi Hayashibara as Yuri Egin.
The artists performing the theme songs for "Yosuga Arc" were also announced, with the band "amazarashi" performing the opening theme (OP) "Itakaku" and singer Shiyui performing the ending theme (ED) "Overlap."
"Blue Exorcist" is a manga that has been serialized in "Jump SQ." since May 2009. It depicts the protagonist, Okumura Rin, who is the child of Satan but works as an exorcist who exorcises demons, and the bond he forms with his friends. The comics have sold over 25 million copies in total. The TV anime "Blue Exorcist" aired in 2011, and the movie version "Blue Exorcist: The Movie" was released in 2012. The TV anime "Blue Exorcist : Kyoto Impure King Arc" aired in 2017.
The new TV anime series, "Shimane Keimei Society Arc," the first in about seven years since "Kyoto Impure King Arc" aired in 2017, was aired from January to March this year, and the sequel, "Yuki no Hate Arc," began airing in October, with the final episode airing on TOKYO MX and other channels late on December 21st.
