An event for the TV anime " Dandadan ," based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu that is currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +," was held on December 21st at "Jump Festa 2025" at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City), with appearances by Shion Wakayama, who plays Momo (Ayase Momo), Natsuki Hanae , who plays Okarun (Takakura Ken), Ayane Sakura , who plays Aira ( Aira Shiratori ), Kaito Ishikawa , who plays Jiji ( Jin Enjoji ), and Mayumi Tanaka, who plays Turbo Granny.
At the event, the original author Ryu sent a message, which Wakayama read out. Ryu expressed his gratitude to the anime production team, the emotions he felt watching the anime, and praise for the voice actors, praising Wakayama's acting in particular, saying, "I thought the way he acted when he was scared but still determined was amazing, it was the only way he could act!" He also "apology" to Hanae, saying, "I'm very sorry to all of Hanae's fans for making him say so many dirty jokes."
"Dandadan" began serialization in "Shonen Jump+" in April 2021. It depicts Momo, a high school girl from a family of spiritualists, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic, as they confront the mysterious happenings that appear one after another. The comics have sold over 8 million copies in total. The first season of the anime began in October on the late-night anime slot "Super Animeism TURBO" on MBS/TBS, and aired its final episode on December 19th.
The second season will be broadcast simultaneously nationwide in the same time slot starting in July 2025.
