It has been announced that the popular smartphone game "Disney Twisted Wonderland," affectionately known as "Twisted," will be made into an anime and released exclusively on Disney+ as the original series "Disney Twisted Wonderland The Animation" from October 2025. Based on the comic book adaptation of the game, season 1 "Episode of Heartslabyul," season 2 "Episode of Savanaclaw," and season 3 "Episode of Octavinelle" will be produced. Season 1 "Episode of Heartslabyul" will be released from October 2025.
The anime will be directed by Takahiro Natori, who has worked on "ARIA The BENEDIZIONE" and "Tokyo Mew Mew New," and directed by Shin Katagai, who has worked on "A Rookie Old Adventurer Trained to Death by the Strongest Party and Becomes Invincible." The script will be written by Yoichi Kato, who has worked on "Space Brothers" and "Aikatsu!". It will be produced by Yumeta Company, who has worked on "Record of Ragnarok II," and Graphinica.
The project visuals have been released, showing the seven dorm leaders reflected in a magical mirror known as the "Dark Mirror." The visuals depict Riddle Rosehearts of the Heartslabyul dorm, the
"Twisted Wonderland" is set at the prestigious magic school, Night Raven College, and features characters inspired by villains from Disney works, as well as seven dorms inspired by the worlds of works such as "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Lion King." Yana Toboso, known as the author of the popular manga "Black Butler," which was also made into an anime, is in charge of the original concept, main scenario, and character design. Voice actors include Natsuki Hanae, Shouta Aoi, Kouki Uchiyama, and Yuichiro Umehara.
