It has been announced that the TV anime series "Shosetsuka ni Naro: A Genius Healer Who Healed in an Instant, But Was Banished for Useless, and Lives Happily as a Dark Healer (Yami Healer)," based on the light novel by Sakaku Hishikawa, who is popular on the novel posting site "Let's Become a Novelist," will begin airing in April 2025. The main cast has also been announced, with voice actor Shogo Sakata playing Zenos, an unlicensed genius healer who can heal any injury in an instant. It has also been announced that Miharu Hanai will play the role of Lili, an elf girl, and Yoko Hikasa will play Carmilla, the undead leader.
The anime will be directed by Jo Yoshizaki, who has worked on "Kinyoneko", and produced by Macaria, who has worked on "Dropkick on My Devil![End of the Century]". A teaser visual and teaser PV featuring Zenos, Lili, and Carmilla have also been released.
Sakata, who plays Zenos, commented, "Zenos is cool, and his perception of his own healing abilities is quite different from those around him, but I think that at heart he is a kind character who believes in saving every life he can. He doesn't show that much, and he can be a bit of a villain (heel) because he is a bit clumsy, but I think that's what makes him so charming. He meets some fun companions, including Lili and Carmilla, and little by little he finds his way in life and saves someone else. It's a wonderful story, so I hope everyone will watch it."
Hanai, who plays Lili, said, "The character I play, Lili, is the one who brings healing to the story! She's a tiny, animal-like girl who spends her days happily with her beloved Zenos and Carmilla, like family. She's good at housework and can even help out Zenos, so I was recording while thinking, 'I'm sure she'll make a great wife in the future' (laughs). There are some scary and spine-chilling scenes, but more than that, the personalities of all the characters shine through, and it's a story that will have you smiling after watching it!"
Hikasa, who plays Carmilla, said, "Carmilla is a wraith, a spirit. I would like to be able to portray the feeling of someone who is freed from the shackles of life, killing time, and drifting around enjoying her freedom, without being bound by existing images or stereotypes. I feel that the title, 'living happily while healing others', is a necessary theme for today's world, so I hope that many people will watch it!"
Director Yoshizaki commented, "I've been trying and testing many different things to make these unaware characters, who are banished from the world, look appealing. I'm working with so many people on the production, hoping to convey the excitement of the original work. If it weren't for the original work, 'Yami Healer,' I wouldn't be producing the TV series as a director. I'm grateful for these encounters... and I hope you will enjoy the anime 'Yami Healer.'"

The work is a light novel written by Hishikawa and illustrated by Daburyu. It is a fantasy about the exploits of a genius healer who was kicked out of his party. The genius healer Zenos, who was unjustly kicked out of his party, meets an injured elf girl named Lili and opens a clinic as an unlicensed dark healer. The first six volumes have been published by GA Novel (SB Creative), and the comic book adaptation is also gaining popularity.
