The second teaser trailer, Side Homura, for the new film version of the popular anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten has been released on YouTube. It is a reconstructed version of the second teaser trailer released in September, with new scenes and narration added.

The new film will be the official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion, which was released in 2013. The staff, including general director Akiyuki Shinbo and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, will reunite. It is scheduled to be released in winter 2025.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an original anime series that depicts magical girls who are burdened with a cruel destiny, and was broadcast as a TV anime in 2011. It is directed by Shinbo and produced by Shaft. A luxurious staff was assembled, including Ume Aoki as the original character designer, Urobuchi as the scriptwriter, and Yuki Kajiura as the composer. Although the visuals are warm and cozy, the profound world setting and dramatic developments have garnered popularity.

Theatrical versions, "Part 1: The Beginning" and "Part 2: The Eternal Story," which were re-edited versions of the TV series, were released in 2012. The completely new "Part 3: Rebellion," released in 2013, became the first late-night anime film to exceed 2 billion yen in box office revenue. The first season of the TV anime "Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story," based on a smartphone game, aired from January to March 2020, the second season from August to September 2021, and the "Final Season" in April 2022.
