The synopsis of the second episode of the latest season of the popular detective drama "Aibou Season 23" (TV Asahi, Wednesday 9pm) titled "Police Officer A" (to be broadcast on October 23rd) has been released. The second episode will be broadcast as an extended special, continuing on from the first extended special.

◇The following contains spoilers for the first episode.

An unexpected incident occurs when Prime Minister Fujiwara (Shiba Toshio) is attacked with a remote-controlled bomb. The attacks on important people that follow the murder of Councilman Ashiya (Namiki Shiro) are similar to the historic incidents in the early 1900s when then Minister of Home Affairs Okubo Toshimichi and then Prime Minister Ito Hirobumi were assassinated one after the other, but the police have not even been able to figure out the perpetrator's intentions.

When Ukyo (Mizutani Yutaka) arrives on the scene, he notices from the traces at the scene that it is possible that an illegal part-time job was used to carry out the terrorist attack. His deduction is correct, and following the clues, it is discovered that a certain person is deeply involved in the series of incidents. The police continue their investigation along those lines, but Ukyo senses something is wrong.

Meanwhile, Ukyo and Kaoru (Terawaki Yasufumi) are asked by Takada (Kato Seishirō) to accompany them to the scene of the politician's murder. He says he wants to learn Ukyo's investigative methods firsthand. The group investigates the scene once again, and an unexpected fact emerges from the bloodstains left behind. Immediately afterwards, however, Kaoru and Takada, who have split up to investigate, find themselves in a desperate situation. Furthermore, there are disturbing movements around Tonegawa (Denden), the Secretary-General of the ruling party who manipulates the political world from behind the scenes...

The screenplay is by Tokunaga Tomihiko and the director is Hashimoto Hajime.
