When Yui (Hashimoto) misses her curfew at the Yoneda house while practicing her parapara dance for the Itoshima Festival, Yota (Sugao Araki) lies to her and says they are dating to protect her. Yui's father Masato (Kitamura Yukiya) is stunned when he hears this, but her mother Aiko (Aso Kumiko) sees through it and realizes that it is just Yota's monkey joke.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" about a heroine born in 1989 who, with her "gal spirit" of valuing her individuality at all times, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist. It is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, who is known for his work on the NHK drama "Honest Real Estate."
