It has been announced that a brand new audio drama based on the popular anime series "Macross", "Macross 7", entitled "Macross 7 30th Anniversary Official Doujin Audio Drama - Can Song Save the Galaxy!?", will be produced and the first episode will be released on YouTube at 9pm on October 16th.
The 3-episode audio drama was written by Tetsuro Amino, who also directed the original work, and follows the band "FIRE BOMBER" as they prepare to perform at a live concert to celebrate the completion of the Hollywood amusement ship that will accompany Macross 7, but Basara Nekki is nowhere to be seen and the song energy detector doesn't react at all... The drama will be released on October 16th, the anniversary of when "Macross 7" began airing 30 years ago.
"Macross 7" is set on the space immigration fleet Macross 7 and depicts Basara Nekki, the vocalist of the band "FIRE BOMBER", struggling to get his song across on the battlefield. A TV anime series was broadcast from 1994 to 1995.
Rock band FIRE BOMBER's first new song in about 12 years, "BURN! BURN! BURN!", was released on October 30th, and FIRE BOMBER's live concert, "SANKYO presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv. FIRE BOMBER LIVE 2025 ~BURN! BURN! BURN!~," is scheduled to be held at Toyosu PIT (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on February 21st and 22nd, 2025. Fukuyama Yoshiki, who sings for Nekki Basara, and Chie Kajiura, who sings for Mylene Flare Jenius, will appear at the concert.
