A commentary video titled "Live! Gun Gale Online" for the second season of the TV anime "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (GGO)," based on a spinoff of Kawahara Reki's popular light novel "Sword Art Online (SAO)" (Dengeki Bunko), has been released on YouTube.
The video focuses on the battle scenes, with "game caster" Kishi Taiga providing commentary and Aniplex producer Hashimoto Wataru providing commentary. They commented on and explained the fierce battle of protagonist Ren, depicted in the first episode released. Kishi commented, "In order to provide information in an easy-to-understand way, we often focused on one side, and there were also parts where we deliberately left time to create a more realistic feel, so it was difficult to know how to commentate. However, I was happy to be able to voice the actions of my favorite characters, who I've been watching since the first series!" The anime's non-credit opening video was also released on YouTube.
"GGO" is set in the game "Gun Gale Online," which also appeared in the second season of the "SAO" TV anime. It depicts female college student Kohiruimaki Karen as Ren, known as the "Pink Devil," battling in the game world. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to July 2018.
In the second season, the voice actors, including Kusunoki as Ren and Hikasa Yoko as Pitohui, will reprise their roles. It is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other stations.
