The third movie in the popular detective drama series starring actor Oda Yuji, "Bayside Shakedown THE MOVIE 3: Set Them Free!" (directed by Motohiro Katsuyuki, 2010), will be broadcast on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot from 8pm on October 12th, expanding the show.
"Bayside Shakedown" is a popular series that began airing on Fuji TV in January 1997. The protagonist, Aoshima Shunsaku (Oda), is an unusual detective who left his job to join the Wangan Police Station's Criminal Investigation Division. He is confused by the gap between his ideals and reality, but tackles cases with sincerity, portraying him with sometimes passion and sometimes humor.
"Bayside Shakedown THE MOVIE 3" is set seven years after the worst, most bizarre serial murders that struck Wangan Police Station. Odaiba has undergone even further transformation. Odaiba, which is close to an airport where important foreigners land, and has lifelines such as highways and substations, has become a perfect target for terrorists. To counter this, the Wangan Police Station has decided to relocate to the New Wangan Police Station, which has an advanced security system.
The person in charge of the move is Aoshima, who has been promoted to the position of head of the Violent Crimes Division. In the Violent Crimes Division led by Aoshima, there is Shinohara Natsumi (Uchida Yuki), who is known as the "female Aoshima," Ogata Kaoru (Komoto Masahiro), who has finally become a detective, Kuriyama Koji (Kawano Naoki), who is only interested in computers, Wang Mingcai (Takito Kenichi), a trainee from China, and Waku Shinjiro (Ito Atsushi), a rookie detective who was assigned to the Wangan Police Station by Muroi Shinji (Yanagiba Toshiro), who has now risen to the position of Commissioner General's Secretariat Counselor.
As he works on the move with subordinates who show no motivation or whose enthusiasm is running thin, a series of incidents occur within the jurisdiction of Wangan Police Station, including a safe being broken into and a bus hijacking. Then, in the midst of the chaos of the move, three handguns belonging to Aoshima, Onda Sumire (Fukatsu Eri), and others are stolen from Wangan Police Station, and the situation develops into a serial murder case...
