It has been revealed that the spin-off manga "Chuzenji Sensei's Monster Lectures: The Teacher Solves the Mysteries," which depicts the prequel to Kyogoku Natsuhiko's popular novel "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons," will be made into a TV anime in 2025. A teaser visual has been released depicting Kyogokudou (aka Chuzenji Akihiko) and female student Kusakabe Kana as high school teachers.
The manga is illustrated by Shimizu Aki and written by Tamura Hanzō, and began serialization in 2019 in "Shonen Magazine Edge" (Kodansha, currently out of print), before moving to the web manga service "Comic DAYS" (Kodansha) in 2023. It is a prequel depicting Kyogokudou (aka Chuzenji Akihiko)'s time as a high school teacher in the "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" series, depicting female student Kusakabe Kana and Chuzenji Akihiko facing various incidents related to supernatural phenomena. Nine volumes of the manga have been released so far.
The anime will be directed by Kumano Chihiro, with animation composition and scriptwriting by Oka Atsushi and character design by Suzuki Masahiko. It will be produced by 100studio.
Shimizu commented, "I can't believe it, Nakazenji-sensei is being made into an anime! I'm very honored! As a viewer, I'm really looking forward to it." Kyogoku said, "The man born from the string of letters I wrote has taken on a physical form through Shimizu Aki's magic, and now he can move and speak. And he's young too. I can't help but be amazed."
