Yui (Hashimoto), who joined the calligraphy club, is drawn to the words and actions of her senior, Kazami (Matsumoto Reo), and feels like she is enjoying her youth to the fullest, but even when her classmate and fellow calligraphy club member, Emi (Nakamura Moriri), hands her an official entry form, she hesitates to join.
However, when she is invited to a calligraphy exhibition being held in Tenjin, Fukuoka, and hears that her senior will also be there, she immediately decides to go. At the Yoneda household, her mother Aiko (Aso Kumiko) hears Yui's story and worries about her hesitation to join the calligraphy club.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" about a heroine born in 1989 who, with a "gal spirit" that values being true to herself at all times, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist. It is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, known for NHK's drama "Shojiki Real Estate," among others.
