The 37th episode, "Ripples," of the NHK Taiga drama "To You, Shining" (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, will air on September 29th. Empress Shoshi (Migami Ai) gives birth to a son for Emperor Ichijo (Shiono Akihisa), and Mahiro (Yoshitaka) and Michinaga (Emoto Tasuku) share their joy.

As rumors of their intimacy spread, Shoshi says she wants to compile a booklet of the story Mahiro has written as a gift for the emperor. So Mahiro and the ladies-in-waiting join forces to create a luxurious book.

Meanwhile, the birth of a new prince causes the plans of Ise (Miura Shohei) and others to go awry, and an uneasy atmosphere surrounds the imperial succession, leading to an incident in the Imperial Palace...

The trailer also includes a scene in which Kikyou/Sei Shonagon (First Summer Uika) tells Mahiro, "I've read the story of Hikaru Kimi."

"Hikaru Kimi e" is the 63rd taiga drama. It is set in aristocratic society in the mid-Heian period, and the protagonist is Murasaki Shikibu (Mahiro), who later wrote "The Tale of Genji," said to be the world's oldest novel written by a woman. The script was written by Oishi Shizuka, who is writing a taiga drama for the second time since "Koumyo ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of Heian aristocrats and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.
