"Omusubi" is the NHK morning drama series starring Kanna Hashimoto, which will begin airing in the second half of 2024 on September 30th. The heroine, born in 1989, is a powerful "Heisei youth graffiti" who always values her individuality with a "gal spirit" in her heart. There are only two days left until the show starts. Here, we introduce Shoya Yotsugi, played by Hayato Sano.

◇From Tochigi Prefecture, he sometimes runs into Yui

Shoya Yotsugi is a high school baseball player studying abroad at Fukuoka Nishi High School. He is called "Yon-sama of Fukunishi" because of his surname Yotsugi and his glasses. He has a practice field in Itoshima and sometimes runs into Yui. He is from Tochigi Prefecture.

This will be Sano's first appearance in a morning drama as Shoya.

◇The first morning drama in four Heisei eras, what about the theme song and narration?

The drama is an original work by Nonji Nemoto, a screenwriter known for NHK's "Honest Real Estate" and other works. The theme song is "Illumination" by B'z, a song that is said to add a powerful touch to the world of the story, in which the protagonist encounters gal culture.

The main story will be narrated by illustrator and actor Lily Franky, while the Saturday edition will be narrated by the station's announcer Takase Kozo. This will be the first morning drama to be set mainly in the Heisei period, since "Maiagare!" in the second half of 2022.

The series will air on NHK General TV from September 30th, Monday to Saturday at 8am and other times.
