To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," the "Shonen Jump+ 10th Anniversary Manga Award," the largest manga award in history, will be held. Submissions began on September 25th. The deadline for applications is January 31st, 2025.
The manga award was created with the desire to "support future artists who will liven up the next 10 years," and will have the largest number of judges and total prize money in history. Ten manga artists currently serializing popular works on "Shonen Jump+," including Matsumoto Naoya of "Kaiju No. 8," Angyaman of "Ramen Akaneko," Agasawa Kocha of "Opposite You and Me," Mikawa Eiko of "Burrowing Battery," and Chiba Yuuki of "Youchien WARS," will serve as special judges.
In addition to the Grand Prize (3 million yen) and Honorable Mention (300,000 yen), there will also be a "Teacher's Category Award" (1 million yen x 10 works) named after each artist, awarded to the work they think is the most interesting. Since the artists who serve as judges can choose the same work, if the winning work for the Grand Prize, Honorable Mention, or Teen Award (200,000 yen) receives the support of 10 people, the total prize money could exceed 10 million yen.
