It has been announced that a new anime project for the popular Mobile Police Patlabor series, Mobile Police Patlabor EZY, will be launched in 2026. It will be directed by Izubuchi Yutaka, with series composition and scriptwriting by Ito Kazunori. J.C.STAFF will produce the anime. Visuals of the Ingram Plus (AV-98plus) have also been released.

The Ingram Plus (AV-98plus) is an Ingram (AV-98) that was rolled out in 1998 and has been modified over the course of 30 years and is used by the Special Vehicle Unit 2 Squadron (Special Vehicle Unit 2). The exterior is almost the same, but with overall tuning and updates to the control software, its performance is closer to that of a different unit. The teaser visuals that have already been announced have been completely updated, and a design featuring an Ingram in Mobile Police Patlabor EZY specs has also been released.

The production of "Mobile Police Patlabor EZY" was announced in 2017, and the pilot film was released at an event in 2022. A 2-minute pilot film of "Mobile Police Patlabor EZY" will be shown as a special video at the revival screening of the first "Mobile Police Patlabor" movie, "Mobile Police Patlabor: The Movie," from September 20th.

"Mobile Police Patlabor" is set in a near future where walking work machines called Labors have been put to practical use, and depicts the activities of the Metropolitan Police Department's Special Vehicle Section 2 Company (Special Vehicle Section 2) as they fight against Labor crimes, and the daily lives of Noa Izumi and other members. Masami Yuki's manga was serialized in the manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1994. A TV anime was broadcast from 1989 to 1990, and the movie version directed by Mamoru Oshii also gained popularity. A live-action version was also made, which became a hot topic.
