A new color illustration of Negi Haruba's popular romantic comedy manga "The Quintessential Quintuplets" was published in the 42nd issue of the manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), released on September 18th. The author Haruba drew a new illustration of the quintuplets, marking the first time the quintuplets have appeared in the magazine in about a year.

The new illustration was published to commemorate the advance screening of the new anime "The Quintessential Quintuplets*" in theaters from September 20th ahead of its TV broadcast. The quintuplets who play the anime, Kana Hanazawa as Nakano Ichika, Ayana Taketatsu as Nino, Miku Ito as Miku, Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba, and Inori Minase as Itsuki, also appear in the issue. Each of them has been photographed by five different photographers, capturing their "now". The issue also includes a free metallic B4-sized reproduction of the original illustration for all applicants.

"The Quintessential Quintuplets" depicts the story of Uesugi Futaro, a high school student living in poverty, who becomes a tutor to quintuplets with unique personalities who are on the verge of failing their classes, and his struggle to lead them to graduation. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from August 2017 to February 2020. The comic series has sold over 20 million copies in total.

"The Quintessential Quintuplets*" will be screened in theaters for three weeks only from September 20th.
