"Omusubi" is the NHK morning drama series starring Hashimoto Kanna, which will begin airing in the second half of fiscal 2024 on September 30th. The heroine, born in 1989, is a powerful "Heisei youth graffiti" who pushes forward with the "gal spirit" of valuing her individuality at all times. There are 13 days left until the broadcast begins. Here, we introduce Yoneda Ayumu, played by Naka Riisa.

◇She stirs up trouble in the Yoneda family with her unrestrained behavior

Yoneda Ayumu is the older sister of the protagonist Yui (Hashimoto), who is eight years older than her. She is known as a "legendary gal" in Fukuoka. She stirs up trouble in the Yoneda family with her unrestrained behavior, but there is a secret behind her becoming a gal...

She is said to be a key person who connects the protagonist, gals, and the Heisei era.

Naka, who plays Ayumu, will be appearing in a morning drama for the second time since "Yell" in the first half of fiscal 2020.

◇The first morning drama to start in the Heisei era in four works - what will be the theme song and narration?

The drama is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, known for NHK's "Honest Real Estate." The theme song is "Illumination" by B'z, a song that is said to powerfully liven up the world of the story, in which the protagonist encounters gal culture.

The main story will be narrated by illustrator and actor Lily Franky, and the Saturday edition will be narrated by the station's announcer Takase Kozo. This will be the first morning drama to be set mainly in the Heisei era, since "Maiagare!" in the second half of 2022.

The series will air on NHK General TV from September 30th, Monday to Saturday at 8am and other times.
