The staff and cast have been announced for the TV anime "Ruri no Houseki," based on the manga by Shibuya Keiichiro currently serialized in "Harta" (KADOKAWA). It will be directed by Fujii Shingo and produced by Studio Bind. Nemoto Kyori will play the role of high school girl Tanigawa Ruri, and Seto Asami will play Arato Nagi, a graduate student majoring in mineralogy. A teaser visual featuring Tanigawa Ruri and Arato Nagi, as well as a teaser PV depicting majestic nature, have also been released.
The announcement was made at the online event "Aniplex Online Fest 2024," held on September 16th. Shibuya, the original author, commented, "First of all, I'd like to thank the many people who have been involved in getting to this point. As a viewer, I would like to support Ruri and the others as they have now begun to move forward, freeing themselves from my hands in a good way. There seem to be many elements unique to the anime that even the artist himself is excited about, such as colorful and beautiful minerals and natural depictions that couldn't be fully expressed in the manga. I'm looking forward to seeing Ruri and the others swinging their hammers in search of new gems."
Nemoto said, "Ruri is a very bright, honest, and energetic girl, so I wanted to combine Ruri's power with the expression of detailed descriptions! I was enthusiastic about the dubbing, trying and failing to achieve it...but before I knew it, I found myself absorbed in Nagi's story every time (laughs). Just as Ruri was drawn in by the charm of minerals, I will do my best to make everyone enjoy this work!"
Seto commented, "Ever since I started reading the manga 'Ruri no Houseki,' I've been interested in the world of stones depicted in it, so I'm happy to be able to participate in the anime. I learn about new minerals every episode, so I'm reading the script with great interest. I hope you enjoy the charm of beautiful things in nature and the characters who are passionate about them."
The series is a manga that has been serialized in "Harta" since 2019. It is a "science adventure" that depicts the story of Tanigawa Ruri, a high school girl who loves jewelry and accessories, as she dives into the world of mineral collecting in mountains, rivers, caves, and more.
