On September 8th, it was revealed that Nao Kosaka of the idol group Hinatazaka46 will be appearing in the NHK Taiga drama "To You, Shining," starring Yuriko Yoshitaka. The announcement was made in a preview of the next episode, "Nakamiya no Namida" (to be broadcast on September 15th), which was released after the main story of the 34th episode, "Awakening," which was broadcast on the same day.

　Nao Kosaka was born on September 7th, 2002, is 22 years old and hails from Osaka Prefecture, and her nickname is "Kosakana." She debuted in August 2017 as a second-year member of Keyakizaka46, the predecessor group to Hinatazaka46, and after the group changed its name, she was the center for four consecutive singles, from the debut single "Kyun" to "Doremi Sora Shido," "Konna Suki Ni Natchatte Ii No?" and "Sonna Koto Nai Yo." She is also active as an exclusive model for the women's fashion magazine (now teen media) "Seventeen" (Shueisha).

"To You, the Shining One" is Kosaka's first taiga drama, in which she plays the role of Saiin no Chujo. In the preview for episode 35, she is seen calling out to Fujiwara no Korenori (Takasugi Mahiro) "Chujo no Kimi!" and "Korenori-sama!"

"To You, the Shining One" is the 63rd taiga drama. Set in the aristocratic society of the mid-Heian period, the protagonist is Murasaki Shikibu (Mahiro), who later wrote "The Tale of Genji," said to be the world's oldest novel written by a woman. The script was written by Oishi Shizuka, who is writing a taiga drama for the second time since "Koumyo ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of Heian aristocrats and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.
