The official promotional video for the 2nd Season of the TV anime "Black Clover," based on the manga by Yuki Tabata, has been released on YouTube. The 2nd Season will enter the "Spade Kingdom Conquest Arc," and the PV showcases powerful action scenes and a dark world view that conveys a sense of despair as the characters are cornered.
It was also announced that the band WANIMA will be in charge of the opening theme (OP) "Kienai Riyuu" (Reason That Doesn't Disappear), and a portion of the song was unveiled in the PV. WANIMA's KENTA commented, "There are some things that just won't disappear no matter how hard you try. Please listen to 'Kienai Riyuu'. Thank you!!"
To commemorate the broadcast of the 2nd Season, the original author, Tabata, has contributed a newly drawn illustration and comment. Tabata expressed his gratitude, saying, "To all Black Clover fans, thank you for waiting!! The 2nd Season will finally begin airing in October!! Although the original Black Clover manga has reached a conclusion, it will once again be delivered to people all over the world in the form of animation. This is all thanks to everyone who loves the work and to the people who are pouring their hearts and souls into creating the anime. Thank you so much!!"
He continued, "When I was drawing the original manga, it felt like the characters were running alongside me, but after finishing it, I started to just look at the characters and feel them more slowly, and now I think I'm becoming a fan of theirs myself. So, I'm incredibly excited about the unique charm of the characters and the thrilling magic battles that only animation can offer! I'm sure it will satisfy us, so I hope all the readers who have supported us will look forward to the broadcast along with me!!"
"Black Clover" is set in a world where magic exists, and follows Asta, a boy born without the ability to use magic, as he aims to become the Wizard King. The series began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) in February 2015 and moved to "Jump GIGA" (Shueisha) in December 2023. The final chapter was published in the magazine on May 1st, bringing its approximately 11-year run to a close. The comic books have sold over 24.5 million copies worldwide.
The TV anime aired from 2017 to 2021 and became popular overseas. The theatrical anime film "Black Clover: The Magic Emperor's Sword," released in June 2023, also garnered attention.
The 2nd Season will be the first new TV anime in approximately five years since the previous series. Like the previous TV anime series and the theatrical film, Studio Pierrot will be producing the animation. It will begin airing in October on TV Tokyo and other networks.
