On May 27th, a large number of still images showcasing Jerry's adorable expressions from the latest animated film in the popular "Tom and Jerry" series, "Tom and Jerry: The Magic Compass of Time" (distributed by Clockworks, released on May 29th), were released.
"Tom and Jerry" is a slapstick comedy short animated series featuring the world's most famous cat, Tom, and mouse, Jerry, as they engage in all sorts of chases in each episode. It celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2025.
The latest theatrical film, fully 3DCG, tells the story of Tom and Jerry, who are having their usual chase at a museum when they accidentally activate an ancient artifact on display, the "Star Compass," and are transported through time in a dazzling light. They arrive in the "Golden City," a different world thousands of years in the past, inhabited by a phoenix sage and unique guardian beasts. There, they find themselves in danger from the evil Rat King, who seeks to conquer the world with the power of the compass. In order to return to their own time, Tom and Jerry call a temporary truce and embark on a grand adventure as a duo in the face of an unprecedented crisis...
Despite his small stature, Jerry is a brilliant, mischievous, and playful genius mouse. His quick wit in outsmarting his arch-nemesis and (sort of?) friend, Tom, and his endearing, lovable charm have made him a beloved character across generations around the world. In this film, he once again outwits Tom, creating hilarious moments while showcasing his intelligence and courage.
These stills, which showcase Jerry's charm, capture a variety of moments, from rare glimpses of him getting ready in his room to his surprised expression when he time travels thanks to the power of the magic compass, and even a chaotic scene where he's launched far away by a rubber band slingshot prepared by Tom.
