It has been announced that the Tokyo performance of singer-songwriter Sheena Ringo's "Party Convention" tour, held on May 1st at Sumida Triphony Hall (Sumida Ward, Tokyo), will be exclusively broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in August.
Shiina released her latest album, "Kinji-te" (Forbidden Technique), in March. Simultaneously, she embarked on a tour titled "Sheena Ringo Party Convention: Reiwa 8th Year Archipelago Tour," which began with a performance in Osaka in March and will continue until May 28th in Gunma, encompassing 18 performances in 8 locations across Japan. This "party convention" is Shiina's first in 13 years, since 2013 when she celebrated her 15th anniversary.
The tour featured a lineup including Shun Ishiwaka (drums), Keisuke Torigoe (bass), Yukio Nagoshi (guitar), Masaki Hayashi (piano/keyboard), Yoichi Murata (trombone), Koji Nishimura (trumpet), Takuo Yamamoto (saxophone/flute), Hiroshi Yoshida (violin), Shu Nagura (violin), Eisei Okuda (viola), and Junpei Hayashida (cello).
The rest of WOWOW's lineup for broadcasting and streaming in August is as follows:
"Sheena Ringo Party Convention, Kamiyama Town Convention, 2013": This broadcast and streamed footage of the live performance held on November 26, 2013, at Bunkamura Orchard Hall (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). This was the final performance of a five-day tour held at the same hall to commemorate Shiina's 15th anniversary since her debut. Having just given birth to her first daughter, Shiina entertained the audience with an unusually gentle and unplugged demeanor.
"Sheena Ringo and Her Crew: The Impermanence of All Things": This program will broadcast and stream footage of the live performance held on May 10, 2023, at Tokyo International Forum Hall A (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), which was the final show of her solo tour held in 2023 to commemorate her 25th anniversary since her debut and 45th birthday.
