The final trailer and new artwork for "The Mandalorian and Glogo" (directed by Jon Favreau, released simultaneously in Japan and the US on May 22), the first new film in the "Star Wars" series in seven years, were unveiled on April 17.
The newly released final trailer shows Glogoo meditating in the forest and the Mandalorians preparing to confront the remnants of the Empire. With the Imperial March playing softly in the background, the trailer is full of scenes that are unmistakably Star Wars, including Snowtroopers and Battle Droids taking up arms, and the ominous presence of the Hatt Brother and Hatt Sister.
The trailer also shows X-wing fighter jets flying in formation to the "Star Wars theme," and Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward in her Rebel pilot suit, stating that she "carries on the hopes of the Rebel Alliance." A charming interaction between the small-bodied Anzeran and Glogoo is also shown.
The film also features thrilling action scenes, such as the Mandalorian's spaceship, the Razor Crest, going into hyperspace, and the Mandalorian and Glogoo riding bipedal AT-RT combat vehicles, speeding past the feet of massive quadrupedal AT-AT combat vehicles.
The latter half of the video includes emotional scenes that convey the father-son-like bond between the Mandalorian and Glogu. It shows the Mandalorian protecting Glogu like a parent, holding off the enemy alone to allow Glogu to escape from the remnants of the Empire, and also shows Glogu helping the Mandalorian fight a large droid, using his small size to destroy its parts and neutralize it. It shows that Glogu is not just someone to be protected, but has grown into a "reliable partner" who fights alongside the Mandalorian. The video also includes a scene where Glogu holds the hand of a person who appears to be the Mandalorian, along with the Mandalorian's line, "Parents protect their children. And...children protect their parents."
The final scene, set to a grand theme song, shows the two swiftly defeating their enemies, and, as the Mandalorian says "Our way," we see Glogoo's valiant figure rising from a dark cavern, heading towards the light. The video builds anticipation for the epic adventure that awaits the Mandalorian and Glogoo, bound by an unbreakable bond.
The simultaneously released visual depicts Glogou in a meditative posture, as if training in the Force. This visual has a distinctly Japanese feel, which is characteristic of "Star Wars," a franchise known for being heavily influenced by Japan.
The film "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Glogu" is set five years after the death of Darth Vader and the fall of the Empire. In a galaxy that has become a lawless wasteland, the Mandalorian, a solitary bounty hunter who perfectly completes any job while adhering to strict rules under the motto "Our Way," takes on a job to deliver alive Glogu, also known as "The Child," a mischievous and gluttonous creature with immense Force powers, to his client. The Mandalorian initially hands over Glogu in exchange for a large reward, but feeling a strange connection, he breaks the rules and takes Glogu back. During their journey, they gradually develop a bond like that of a father and son. "He'll outlive me. I can't protect him forever..." The story follows these two, bound by an unbreakable bond, as they confront destiny to prevent a new war aimed at the resurgence of the Empire.
