"Farewell Hospital 2" is a sequel to the drama that aired in 2024, based on the manga of the same name by Okita x Hana, known for works such as "Transparent Cradle." Written by Naoko Adachi, it depicts the irreplaceable days spent in a hospital's convalescent ward. In this ward, where death is the closest thing to life, nurse Henmi Ayumi (Kishii) and doctor Hirono Seiji (Matsuyama) once again work with patients and their families to create a soulful drama about living life to the fullest until the very end.
In addition to Kishii and Matsuyama, the drama will also feature Uchida Chikako, Sendo Atsuko, Ito Shiro, YOU, and Watanabe Eri.
In the second part, Ms. Kadokawa, despite having terminal interstitial pneumonia, removes her oxygen mask in front of her husband. The husband refuses to face his wife's condition, and the couple wishes for life-sustaining treatment with a ventilator. Nurse Henmi tries to hear the patients' true feelings. Ms. Kadokawa's true feelings change the husband. Meanwhile, Henmi tries to confront the feelings deep within the pain of Ms. Sakurada, who pleads to be allowed to die.
To Henmi's question, "I want you to live your life to the fullest until the very end," Sakurada calmly faces death.
