It has been announced that "Lost World," a popular story from the manga by Minoru Toyoda, which has been making headlines for winning the Manga Taisho 2023 and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award, will be adapted into the TV anime "Kore Kaite Shine). The episode depicts the past of Rei Teshima, a Japanese language teacher at the high school attended by the protagonist, Ai Yasumi, and a visual has been released. It shows a young Rei Teshima engrossed in manga creation, while erupting magma. It also includes a scene of him reflecting on the past at the port of Izu-Ojima.
Additional cast members have also been announced. Noriko Hidaka will play Pokota, a robot from Ai's bible "Robota and Pokota" and also Ai's imaginary friend; Atsumi Tanezaki will play Nana Teramura, the owner of the manga rental shop on Izu-Ojima that Ai frequently visits; Yukana will play Hana Kongoji, a manga editor at Shogakukan and the editor who handled Rei Teshima when he aspired to become a manga artist in the past; and Kikuko Inoue will play Hebichika-sensei, the bestselling manga artist who created the popular manga "Sweet Snake Strawberry".
Hidaka, who plays the role of Pokota, commented, "It's been a while since I've played such a cute character, so I was very happy and enjoyed playing the role. Pokota is Anmi's imaginary friend. He's always by Anmi's side, encouraging her and giving her a push when she's lost. All the characters in this work have passionate feelings in their hearts. Tanezaki, who plays the role of Teramura Nana, said, "It took me a long time to start writing this comment. It's a work that has given me so much to take in, feel, think about, and think about. A second teaser PV featuring characters such as Ai, Pokota, Tejima Rei, Teramura Nana, Ai's classmate Fujimori Kokoro, Akafuku Yuki, and Ishi Ryuko, who also works as a talented amateur manga artist, has been released on YouTube.
The series is a "manga x high school girl coming-of-age story" that has been serialized in "Gessan" (Shogakukan) since 2021. It depicts a high school girl who is fascinated by manga and forms a manga research club with her friends, struggling to find what she wants to draw. The protagonist, Ai Yasumi, is a first-year high school student living on Izu-Ojima, an island off the coast of Tokyo, who loves to read manga, and after a certain event, she begins to think about drawing manga herself.
The anime will be directed by Teasing Master Takagi-san The Dangers in My Heart," and produced by Shin-Ei Animation. It will air from July on "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT 2330," a segment within Nippon Television's anime block "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT," at 11:30 PM on Fridays.
