The sixth episode of the drama series "Reunion ~Silent Truth~" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9 PM), starring actor Ryoma Takeuchi, will air on February 17th. The preview for the episode includes phrases such as "A new crime is revealed" and "The hidden truth is revealed..."
The drama is a film adaptation of Yokoseki Dai's novel "Reunion" (Kodansha), which won the 56th Edogawa Rampo Prize (2010), starring Takeuchi. Four classmates share a "secret" that they buried the gun used in a crime under a cherry tree during their elementary school days. 23 years later, Junichi (Takeuchi), who has become a detective, reunites with his first love, Iwamoto Makiko (Inoue Mao), one of the four, only to find that she has become a suspect in a new murder case. This heartbreaking human love mystery begins with a fateful reunion.
In episode 6, Junichi (Takeuchi) is confronted by Naoto (Watanabe Daichi) with the "secret from 23 years ago," and is overcome with intense turmoil and conflict. Meanwhile, the "sealed truth" is finally revealed.
The key to the crime is the gun of a police officer who was killed in the line of duty and lost 23 years ago. Detective Minami Ryo (Eguchi Noriko) is convinced of this and summons four of his classmates, including Junichi and Makiko (Inoue), who discovered the body 23 years ago, to re-examine the circumstances of the case.
