The 15th episode, "Another Person's Face," of the popular detective drama "Aibou Season 24" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9 PM), starring Yutaka Mizutani and Yasufumi Terawaki, will air on February 4th. Kumiko Endo and Sayaka Namiki will appear as guests.
A TV program covering the disappearance of a 3-year-old girl named Yurie Saeki 15 years ago uses AI to predict what she would look like today. The face she predicts is an exact replica of Yui (Namiki), an instructor at the gym frequented by Miwako (Suzuki Sawa), wife of Kaoru (Terawaki).
If Yui is Yurie, then the possibility arises that the person Yui believed to be her parent is the kidnapper. Miwako introduces Yui to Ukyo (Mizutani) and Kaoru, who offer their advice. Yui's parents are divorced, and her mother died of illness two years ago. Her stepfather dismisses her, telling her not to worry about such things.
Ukyo and Kaoru go to the restaurant run by Yurie's mother, Mayumi (played by Endo). When asked how her daughter went missing, Mayumi, a single mother, says that she had temporarily left Yurie in the care of a regular customer while she went shopping, but when the regular customer took his eyes off her for a few minutes, she went missing.
A regular customer who felt responsible set up a support group, but recently committed suicide by jumping off a building. Ukyo and Kaoru are suspicious of his death and begin investigating the case, including his disappearance.
What happened to the girl 15 years ago? The timeless incident converges into a surprising conclusion. The screenplay is by Kazunori Machida and the director is Tatsuya Hama.
