To commemorate the revival screening of "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya," the animated feature film based on Nagaru Tanigawa's popular light novel series "The Haruhi Suzumiya," published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko (KADOKAWA), the first 8 minutes and 39 seconds of the film have been released on YouTube. It will be available for a limited time until March 31st. "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" will be revived for a limited two-week period starting February 6th as part of a project to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the TV anime broadcast of the series.
On February 7th, a stage greeting will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) to commemorate the screening. All the cast members of the SOS Brigade, including Hirano Aya as Haruhi Suzumiya, Sugita Tomokazu as Kyon, Chihara Minori as Nagato Yuki, Goto Yumiko as Asahina Mikuru, and Ono Daisuke as Koizumi Itsuki, will be appearing on stage.
"The Haruhi Suzumiya" is a science fiction comedy in which a series of mysterious events occur around Haruhi Suzumiya, a high school girl who loves aliens, people from the future, psychics, and paranormal phenomena, and her friends, Kyon, an ordinary high school boy, and the others, who get caught up in a lot of chaos.
A television anime series was broadcast in 2006 and 2009. The animated film "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" was released in 2010.
