The 13th episode, "An Unreliable Narrator," of the popular detective drama "AIBO Season 24" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9 PM), starring Yutaka Mizutani and Yasufumi Terawaki, will air on January 21st. Guest appearances will include Katsuya Maikuma and Ryosuke Hashimoto from "ABC-Z." Ura Shinroku, played by Maikuma, will be making his first appearance since the final episode of "Season 23" (March 2025).
When Ukyo (Mizutani) visits his favorite tea shop, he is reunited with Ura, a "political and business fixer" who is on high alert. Ura, who has been lying in wait for Ukyo, approaches him with an unexpected proposal: he is a crime victim whose entire family was murdered, and is dissatisfied with the investigation that was terminated due to the death of the suspect, so he would like to have a reinvestigation.
Ukyo, feeling uneasy about Ura's words and actions, reexamines the murder of Ura's family 24 years ago together with Kaoru (Terawaki). The murder of four family members other than Ura and the burning down of the house was the "curtain call" for the suspect's death when the body of the gardener was discovered along with a suicide note indicating the crime.
Meanwhile, a detective from the Public Security Bureau, Matsunaga (Hashimoto), appears before the Special Investigation Unit and reveals a shocking fact about Ura. At the same time, the First Investigation Division is investigating the case of the president of a major construction company being found dead along with his mistress.
Eventually, an eerie similarity emerges between the past incidents surrounding Ura and the case that Division 1 is investigating. The screenplay is by Katsunari Mano and the director is Hajime Hashimoto.
