Actor Eisaku Yoshida will appear on the Kansai TV talk show "Okabero" (Saturday 2:28 PM) on December 6th. Yoshida, who became a father at the age of 56 this September, will talk candidly about how he met his wife, actor Rina Uchiyama, and how he raised his children.
Yoshida, who was able to be present at the birth, said, "I was moved," looking back on the birth of her first child, and is currently working hard to raise her child, taking charge of feeding him in the middle of the night.
Yoshida revealed that he met Uchiyama while co-starring in a two-hour suspense drama, and that he invited her out to dinner, to which MC Takashi Okamura retorted, "You were kind of aiming for her, weren't you?" Akira Ishida then delved deeper, asking, "What did you say when you proposed? Where?!"
Every year on their wedding anniversary, the two of them take a photo together and post it on social media, leading Okamura to ask, "Do you ever fight?" Yoshida reveals the "magic words" that could be said to be the secret to their happy marriage.
After the recording, Yoshida commented, "I was happy to meet Okamura-san, who is the same generation as me, for the first time in a while." Looking back on the past year, he said, "The biggest thing was (the birth of my child). It was a year that seemed to be made for that. (Next year) I hope to continue doing the work that needs to be done day by day, one project at a time, in 2026 as well."
