23-year-old actor Rihito Itagaki will be appearing on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on December 5th.
He began working as a child actor at the age of 10, and appeared in the historical drama "Hana Moyu" (2015) when he was in junior high school. He had a one-on-one scene with veteran actor Kinya Kitaoji, and was overwhelmed by his incredible aura. He says the words he received at that time still support him to this day. This year he won the Japan Academy Award for Best New Actor.
He has loved drawing since he was a child and was the head of the art club in junior high school. Last year, he held his first solo exhibition, demonstrating his artistic talent. His real name, Li Kwang-in, was given to him by his parents. The name means "light" in German, but he has never been to Germany.
