The 49th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi , was broadcast on December 4th, and viewers responded to the emotional turmoil between Toki (Takaishi) and Heaven ( Tommy Bastow).
In episode 49, Heaven, who had been bedridden for a long time, is finally feeling better. Her appetite has completely returned and she thanks Toki for taking care of her, saying, "Thank you, Shijimi-san." Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa) comes over and is relieved to see Heaven looking better. Just like Heaven, he also thanks Toki, bowing his head and saying, "It's all thanks to you. On behalf of the school and as a person, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you."
Heaven then asks Toki, "What... did you talk about, Kotani?" Heaven says that she heard Kotani (Kyohei Shimokawa), who had come to visit, make a promise with Toki.
In episode 48 (broadcast on December 3rd), Kotani visits Heaven in order to deepen his relationship with Toki. Toki loves ghost stories, Kotani invites him to "When Heaven-sensei is well enough to return to school...would you like to join us in a ghost story performance somewhere?" Toki readily accepts despite his busy schedule.
Looking back on that time, Toki explained to Heaven, "He invited me, saying, 'When you return, would you like to go out?'" Heaven replied curtly, "I see... OK." Leaving the room, Toki, with a complicated expression on his face, asked Nishikori, "Um... about what you just said... Did Sensei say anything, like being angry or happy?"
When Nishikori answered, "No, nothing in particular," Toki muttered, "That's true, but..." and continued, "I don't really understand what you mean, Sensei... If you were to talk about clams, it would feel like the shells were closed... Well... I'm just a maid, so maybe that's why," and she looked at Heaven, who was eating, with a sulky expression on her face.
Comments on social media included, "I can feel a gradual change happening in Toki-chan and Heaven-san's hearts," "It's not love yet, but something is stirring their hearts," "Something is beginning to blossom between Toki and Heaven-san. It's not love. It's more tender and gentle, and that's why it's probably a little troublesome...," "Neither of them seem to realize it yet, but there's something bothering them," "It's a good way to say it, like their 'shells are closed.' Toki's sulky, chubby face is so cute," and "Akari Takaishi Akari is amazing at how she skillfully expresses Toki's complicated emotions that even he himself doesn't know how to handle."
