The Yahoo! Search Awards 2025, which ranks people, works, products, and places that have seen a sudden increase in search volume in 2025 compared to the previous year, were announced on December 3rd, and it was revealed that the popular anime series Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX took first place in the anime category.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX was also a hot topic as it was the first collaboration between Sunrise, which produces the Gundam series, and khara, known for the Evangelion series. Ahead of the TV anime series broadcast, a pre-release movie version of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, which reconstructed some episodes, began screening in January. The TV anime aired from April to June, and search numbers increased around the broadcast dates.
Ranking second to fifth in the anime category were "The Apothecary Diaries," the second season of which aired on TV from January to July, "SAKAMOTO DAYS," which aired on TV from January to March and July to September, "Takopi's Original Sin," which began streaming in June, and "You and Idol Pretty Cure, " the 22nd installment of the popular anime "PreCure" series.
In the voice acting category, Keiko Toda, known for her role as Anpanman in the popular anime series "Soreike! Anpanman," took first place. She has been a hot topic for her appearances in the NHK morning drama " Anpan ," which is based on the lives of Takashi Yanase, the manga artist and picture book author who created "Anpanman," and in the animated feature films "Asadora ! Anpanman: Chapon's Hero!" and "Alice in Wonderland - Dive in Wonderland."
Coming in second to fifth in the voice actor category are Takeshi Kusao, who took over the role of popular character Toru Amuro in " Detective Conan ," Kenjiro Tsuda , who has been active as a voice actor and narrator as well as appearing in " Anpan ," Sumi Shimamoto , who appeared in the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " and "Anpan," and Koichi Yamadera, who has been making waves not only for his work in anime and dramas but also for his appearances on television programs.
The popular eight-member group "timelesz" was selected as the grand prize winner of the "Yahoo! Search Awards 2025."
