The eighth episode of the TBS Friday drama "Fake Mummy" (Fridays at 10 PM), starring actors Haru and Rina Kawaei, aired on November 28th. The behavior of Sayuri Motohashi, played by Minami Tanaka, became a hot topic on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers
Sayuri finds out that Hanamura Kaoru (Haru) is Hidaka Iroha's (Aoi Ikemura) "fake mother." She hears the details from Makie (Kawaei) and Kaoru. When Sayuri finds out that Makie had previously dated her husband, Motohashi Shingo (Kasamatsu Masaru), and that Iroha's father is Shingo, she is shocked and criticizes Makie, saying, "She's unacceptable as a mother. She's the worst."
Then, Sayuri visits Shingo at work and asks him about Iroha. Shingo tells her that Iroha is just as talented as he is, and tells her, "Of course you want to get what's yours back."
Afterwards, Sayuri tells Nozoe (Miyao Shuntaro), the head teacher of the grade, "I know Hidaka's secret. He is a child who should not have been selected for the Genius (recommended study abroad program)." Shortly after, weekly magazines and other publications start reporting that Kaoru has been "coming in and out of the school as a fake mother."
On social media, people were talking about the incident, saying things like, "Wow! Sayuri sold herself out to a weekly magazine?!", "Has Sayuri gone dark too...?", "Sayuri's scary!", "Sayuri was the one who told the school, but I think it was Motohashi who leaked the information to the weekly magazine," "I feel sorry for Sayuri. She didn't do anything wrong," "No matter how you look at it, Sayuri's position is really sad, I understand why she would want to tell everything," and "I thought Sayuri would go dark, but it seems like she wouldn't hurt a child. I think she'll protect Iroha."
