It has been revealed that actress Mikako Ichikawa will appear in the 9th episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, which will be broadcast on December 7th. Ichikawa has previously played the role of an eccentric clinical laboratory technician in "Unnatural" and "The Last Mile", both directed by Tsukahara Ayuko, but this time she will play a skilled but eccentric veterinarian.
Ichikawa plays the role of veterinarian Sawatari Yuki, who is quite skilled as a veterinarian but has a rather eccentric personality. Team Royal sets off again to achieve their big dream of winning the Arima Kinen, but they are hit with one trouble after another. Just as their chances of participating in this year's Arima Kinen seem hopeless, Team Royal meets Sawatari, played by Ichikawa. Furthermore, it is said that Sawatari was once acquainted with Kozo (Koichi Sato), and his relationship with his son Koichi, who has inherited Kozo's dream, is likely to attract attention.
◇Comment from Mikako Ichikawa
The beauty of the horses running. The people praying, gazing intently at them. I was so moved with every episode that I even surprised myself by how much I cried. I was very nervous on set, but Tsukamoto-san and the other actors and staff members all welcomed me with such warmth, and I had many happy reunions.
As I was going through the tests and wondering what to do, Ren Meguro was so reliable and would carefully explore what was important for the scene and the role, and respond to my lines, and I felt so grateful.
From here to the final episode. As a fan of the series, I'm looking forward to it.
◇Synopsis of Episode 9
With Kurisu (Satoshi Tsumabuki) and Koichi (Ren Meguro) at the center, Team Royal has built a strong bond, aiming for the big dream of winning the Arima Kinen two years from now. Shohei (Ichihara Shogo), who has become the Royal Family's main jockey in place of Ryujiro (Takasugi Mahiro), is taking on the autumn G1 season. However, just as he is about to do so, Shohei gets caught up in an unexpected and major problem...
Meanwhile, Koichi's rival Nobuyuki (Taishi Nakagawa) is aiming to win the classic triple crown, something that even his father, Shiina (Sawamura Kazuki), was unable to do.
As troubles continue to pile up, their goal of competing in the Arima Kinen at the end of the year seems hopeless. Nevertheless, Kurisu and Koichi work hard to protect the team and keep their dream alive.
