The eighth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, will be broadcast on November 30th.
In the previous episode... Koichi (Ren Meguro) suggested that Royal Happiness should have a foal in order to utilize the power of Royal Hope, and this was accepted, resulting in the birth of a foal in 2020. Kozo (Koichi Sato) named it "Royal Family."
The day of the royal family's debut finally arrived in June 2022. Kurisu (Tsumabuki) accompanied Kozo's representative, Koichi, to the venue. Meanwhile, Kozo's condition had suddenly worsened in the hospital.
The Royal Family takes first place, and Kurisu and Koichi embrace each other in joy. At the hospital, Kyoko (Kuroki Hitomi), who has been watching the live broadcast, chokes up and says to Kozo, "Congratulations, that was fun." At that moment, a tear falls from Kozo's eye...
In episode 8... Koichi, who inherited the Royal Family from the late Kozo as an inherited horse owner, is taken by Kurisu to visit the auction at Hokuryo Farm. The two become close friends when Shiina's (Sawamura Kazuki) son, Nobuyuki (Taishi Nakagawa), wins the new horse that Koichi fell in love with at the auction. Koichi is attracted to Nobuyuki's ideas, as he is the same age as Kurisu and is trying to break down the old customs of horse racing.
The Royal Family made a successful debut, but their performance since then has been lackluster. In an attempt to change things, Koichi makes a bold proposal, but Hironaka (Masanobu Ando) opposes it. As the bond between Koichi and Team Royal gradually becomes more strained, Kurisu finds it more difficult than ever before.
Koichi is invited by Nobuyuki to join the "Young Horse Owners' Association" and becomes fascinated by the progressive thinking of the young horse owners, but...
