It has been revealed that actress Nao Matsushita will be starring in the January drama series "He's My Husband" (Kantele/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10pm). She will play a wife whose life begins to go awry after she receives insurance money after mistaking a body for her husband's.
This is an original work written by Okazaki Satoko, inspired by an incident in which a body found in a river was handed over to another family by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, but when the man returned home later, it was discovered that the bodies had been switched.
One day, Asahi Seiko (Matsushita) suddenly loses her husband. While taking care of her two children and mother-in-law and running the Asahi Oden restaurant, Seiko searches for her missing husband. A month later, she is called to the police station and told that her husband has died in an accident in the river. Based on the body's belongings and certain physical characteristics, she concludes that it is her husband, but a year later, her husband, who was supposed to be dead, appears before her. Who was the body she identified? Why was her husband missing? And what happened to the insurance money she received? This is a human suspense story.

The first introduction makes you think, "Does something like this really happen?" When I received the script, I thought it was really interesting as a "reading material." I wanted to know more and more what happened next, but the more I learned, the more cornered he became... I found the way the main character changed very interesting, and the changes in the people around him also made me really absorbed in the story as I read. I resolved to cherish this feeling of "interesting" in my performance.
"What to believe, what to accept, and what choices to make" are probably things we need to consider in many different situations in life, and this drama features these choices in every episode. It's easy to believe, but sometimes there's nothing you can do if the other person doesn't believe in you. I was really struck by the realization that there are many different kinds of 'belief'!
