To celebrate the November 21st release of " Scarlet ," the latest animated film from director Mamoru Hosoda, known for such works as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and " Summer Wars ," Friday Roadshow (NTV, Fridays at 9pm) will be broadcasting Hosoda's films for four consecutive weeks starting from November 7th. In the first week, the first film from Hosoda's animation production company, Studio Chizu, "Wolf Children" (2012), will be broadcast in its entirety from 9pm on November 7th. Comments have been provided by Aoi Miyazaki, the voice actress for the main character Hana, and director Hosoda.
Miyazaki said, "Even now, people often tell me they love Wolf Children. I think that even those who saw it back then, if they were to revisit the film now that their circumstances have changed, they would find even more moving scenes. I hope you enjoy Director Hosoda's work, which is filled with great love."
Director Hosoda commented, "I've continued making films up until now, and I've always relied on everyone's support to be able to make the next one. So I think it's precisely because of everyone's support that I was able to make ' Scarlet' this time. I'm grateful that I was able to make such a big project because of everyone's support. I hope that everyone who has supported me will enjoy ' Scarlet', as it is an even larger-scale film than my previous ones."
"Wolf Children is the first film that attempts to portray parent-child relationships head-on. There is a parent's love for their child, the child grows up...and then there is separation. In that sense, it shares a common theme with Scarlet. With the release of the new film, Scarlet, I would be delighted if the circle of people who watch the film expands. I hope you will enjoy watching Friday Roadshow for four consecutive weeks!"
The November 7th broadcast will feature new information about "Scarlet," as well as a special video. To commemorate the broadcast of Hosoda's work for four consecutive weeks, the opening credits of the program, produced by Studio Chizu, will be a special version.
Friday Road Show will broadcast "The Boy and the Beast" on November 14th, "The Dragon and the Freckled Princess" on the 21st, and "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" on the 28th.
