A stage greeting to commemorate the release of the fourth chapter, "Sasha," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," the latest remake of the popular anime series " Space Battleship Yamato ," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on October 11th. "Yamato 3199" consists of seven chapters, and has finally reached the halfway point. Director Harutoshi Fukui commented on future developments, saying, "We're at the halfway point, but content-wise we're about one-third of the way through. It's going to get even more amazing from here on out. Considering the impact of what's to come and the difficulty of making it, we're only about one-third of the way through, and it's only going to get harder from here on out."
Daisuke Ono, who plays Kodai Susumu, said, "I'm overwhelmed with emotion that we've come this far, but we're just getting started. Even more difficult challenges await us ahead. However, I once again realized that with these friends, I can travel together. I am prepared to dedicate my life to Yamato. I believe that this is also the determination of the staff and cast involved. What's important is all of you, the crew. I believe that with this crew, we can reach a hopeful future."
Also appearing on stage to greet the audience were Toriumi Kosuke, who plays Kitano Seiya, Uemura Yuto, who plays Ageha Takeru, and Nakamura Eriko, who plays Kiryu Mikage.
"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a new interpretation of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III." Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage," and will also serve as general director for this latest installment. Naomichi Yamato will direct. There will be a total of seven chapters, with the fifth chapter, "The Incandescent Galactic War," set to premiere on February 20, 2026.
