The opening day stage greeting for the fourth chapter, "Sasha," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199," the latest remake of the popular anime series " Space Battleship Yamato ," was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on October 10th, with appearances by general director Harutoshi Fukui, director Naomichi Yamato, screenwriter Hideki Oka, and voice actress Eriko Nakamura, who plays Mikage Kiryu. They spoke about the fifth chapter, "The Incandescent Galactic War," which will be screened from February 20th, 2026.
Regarding the "giant something" that appears at the end of Chapter 4 and is also depicted in the visuals for Chapter 5, Fukui commented, "Something huge appeared at the end of Chapter 4. There's no way we can avoid fighting it. With Golba on both sides, it's no way it's 70 kilometers long."
Oka revealed, "There were three things that I said I wanted to do in 3199. The two were having Alphonse and Kodai meet face to face, and capturing the intermediate supply base," and Fukui said, "Chapter 5 will resolve all of that in one go."
Furthermore, Fukui hinted, "There was also something called a warp dimension, where the screen ratio changed, but something comparable to that will happen at the end of Chapter 5. I hope you'll look forward to it."
" Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a re-imagining of the original works "Be Forever Yamato" and "Space Battleship Yamato III," with a new interpretation added. Harutoshi Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also serve as general director for this latest installment. Naomichi Yamato will direct. There will be a total of seven chapters.
