The first episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Jaa, Anta ga Tsukutte Miro yo It" (Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actors Kaho and Ryoma Takeuchi, aired on October 7th. A comment made by Katsuo Ebiwara (played by Takeuchi), the father of Katsu (played by Daikichi Sugawara), who appeared briefly, caused a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers
The original work is a manga of the same name by Natsuko Taniguchi, currently being serialized in the digital comic magazine Comic Tanto (Bunkasha). Yamagishi Ayumi (Kaho), who always puts her lover first, and Ebihara Katsuo, who has a patriarchal mentality, have been dating since their university days. After living together, Katsuo proposes marriage, but Ayumi's response is an unexpected "no." Through cooking, Katsuo reexamines the things he took for granted and grows as a person.
Yoko (Ikezu Sachiko) receives a call back from her son, Katsuo. Yoko asks Katsuo, "You haven't called me recently. I was worried. How are you? Lately. How's Ayumi doing? I'm worried about you too." Next to her, Katsu is eating and muttering, "Yeah, it doesn't taste bad."
Katsuo said, "I think I'll have some good news to report soon. I'll even go visit my parents' house when that happens," to which Yoko smiled and said, "I'm looking forward to it! I'll be waiting."
Yoko was still in the middle of talking to Katsuo, but when Katsu said, "Hey, can I have another one?" Yoko immediately hung up the phone.
On social media, people were talking about this, saying things like, "Oh! So his dad is like that too. No wonder his son is like that," "He probably gets it from his father...," "I can't help but think he should at least serve himself a second helping," and "Help yourself get a second helping."
