The new TV commercial for the gourmet information website "Hot Pepper Gourmet," titled "The Men of Zeon," began airing on September 11th. It is the second in the "Anime + Live-Action Scenery Series," which is based on the theme "Let's eat." This time, the popular character Char Aznable from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam" appears.
The setting is a restaurant terrace at night. Char Aznable is sitting at a table with his subordinates from the Principality of Zeon, including his aide-de-camp Dren, enjoying a meal of steak. "Wow, Major, there was a time like that too? I can't believe it," Dren says, to which Char replies, "It's still the same now." Their relaxed conversation evokes the atmosphere of a peacetime restaurant, different from the wartime setting of the anime.
It's crafted with great attention to detail, and features some irresistible gimmicks for fans, such as Ramba Ral and Claure Hamon walking down the restaurant's corridors. The final narration from Char, "Food can be salvation," is also memorable.
