The TBS Sunday Theatre drama " The 19th medical record " (Sundays at 9:00 PM), starring Jun Matsumoto , has recently wrapped up filming. The final episode, Episode 8, will be broadcast on September 7th, with an extended 15 minutes (it will start at 9:55 PM due to an extended broadcast of the "World Volleyball" event).
Based on the manga " The 19th medical record: Akira Tokushige's Medical Interview" (Core Mix) by Katsuhito Fujiya, the story depicts a general practitioner who lends a helping hand to patients' lifestyles. The screenplay is by Aya Tsubota.
The cast wrapped up filming in the corridors of Uotora General Hospital, where the story is set. Fuka Koshiba, who plays Mizuki Takino, said, "I hope this drama can help someone, even just a little... I'm truly happy to have been able to take part in a production that is filled with such thoughts."
Matsumoto, who plays the lead role of general practitioner Tokushige Akira, spoke of the thoughts he put into the work, saying, "I carried the hopes of the general practitioner doctors that 'I want this drama to be a show that will inspire people to see general medicine and change their perspective, even if just a little,' and I wanted to make a show that would encourage people to confront their illnesses and consider visiting a general practitioner... I have been running through the past four months with that hope in mind," and concluded, "It is thanks to all the people who supported me that the viewers have been able to receive that feeling. I am truly grateful." Matsumoto, who had spoken repeatedly with the staff and cast and led the team with strength and kindness, was given applause, and the wrap-up was filled with smiles.
Comments from the cast on the wrap-up are as follows:
◇Comment from Jun Matsumoto
It was an incredibly passionate production, and I could feel every day that each and every person in each section was working with a strong desire to deliver this work to the viewers. I am truly happy that I was able to take part in such a production.
Before filming began, medical supervisor Dr. Ikusaka and other doctors from the general medicine department said to me, "We want this drama to be a production that will encourage people to come into contact with general medicine and change their perspective, even if just a little." With that in mind, we have been running through the past four months hoping to make a production that will encourage people to confront their illness and consider visiting a general medicine department.
I believe the seeds have definitely been sown. It is thanks to all the people who supported me that I have viewers who have received that feeling. I am truly grateful. Thank you so much for the past four months!
◇Comment from Fuka Koshiba
Thank you so much to everyone for your hard work! It was a warm and welcoming set, filled with smiles, that allowed me to enjoy the whole thing until the very end. This was the first time I had heard of the existence of a "general medical department," and I hope that this drama will provide some relief to those who are suffering from illness or are unsure of which department to go to. I am truly happy to have been able to take part in a production that is filled with such thoughts.
Thank you so much for supporting me until the end!

Thanks to everyone's warm welcome, I really looked forward to going to the set every day. I was a little nervous about appearing in a drama after four years, but I was able to spend time on the set in a way that made me truly happy that I was chosen for this project.
This time, I was deeply moved by the performance of the leader, Jun Matsumoto. I couldn't be happier to have been able to work with someone who truly made me want to become a leader like him. I will continue to work hard so that I can one day become like Matsumoto.

Thank you very much to everyone for your help.
I loved the role of Arimatsu Shiori, and while I was playing the role I thought, "I wish I could become someone as cool as her." I am truly grateful to have been given such a wonderful role.
In fact, Arimatsu's hobby is touring on large motorcycles. I was a little excited to see what would happen if such a scene appeared, but it didn't appear this time. I'm secretly hoping that it will be depicted if there is a Part 2! (laughs)

Although a lot of things happened, it was a really fun time. I expressed my opinions and listened to everyone's opinions... I think the drama was created while truly embodying its theme. I was more than happy to have been able to participate in this way. I'm truly grateful. Thank you very much.
