The sixth episode of the drama series " Ubai Ai, Manatsu " (TV Asahi, Friday 11:15pm, excluding some areas), starring actress Marika Matsumoto , aired on August 29th, and the unexpected "title comeback" at the end became a hot topic.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama is a new installment in the "Ubai Ai" series, written by Osamu Suzuki. It tells the story of Umino Manatsu (played by Matsumoto) who falls in forbidden love with Sorachi Taimu (played by Ken Yasuda Ken), a married company president who looks just like her ex-boyfriend.
Despite their conflicts, Manatsu and Tokimu are drawn to each other and finally go beyond a kiss. Manatsu and Tokimu cross the line and are at the peak of happiness, but the entire story of their forbidden love is secretly filmed by Hikuma Motoya (Shirahama Alan), a former subordinate who has a crush on Manatsu. Motoya is in cahoots with his wife Mirai (Maryjun Takahashi), who deeply loves Tokimu, and sends the video to Mirai. Witnessing this clear-cut infidelity, Mirai screams in shock.
Heartbroken, Mirai puts on makeup for the traditional Mexican festival "Day of the Dead" and breaks away from her role as the bright, kind, ideal wife, saying, "Goodbye, me..." She barges into Manatsu and Tokimu's workplace and announces the opening of a solo exhibition titled "Ubai Ai, Manatsu," displaying vivid paintings of the couple's infidelity.
In response to this development, viewers on social media commented one after another, saying things like, "Maryjun Takahashi's breakdown is so Ubai Ai, Manatsu are the first times I've laughed this much at a title reversal scene lol."
