Actor Toma Ikuta will appear on NHK's program "Dosta" (General TV, Saturday 1:50 PM) on August 30th. The program on this day is a special feature on the station's historical drama "UNBOUND (Berabou)," and will be a public live broadcast with Ikuta, who plays the role of Harunori Hitotsubashi, as a guest.
Harusame Hitotsubashi was the head of the Hitotsubashi Tokugawa family, one of the "Gosankyo" (Three Great Houses) established to deal with the succession of the 8th Shogun, Yoshimune. He was Yoshimune's grandson and a cousin of the 10th Shogun, Ieharu. As successors to the Shogun died prematurely one after another, Harusame's last remaining son, Ienari, became the 11th Shogun, and Harusame gained all the wealth and power as the "father of the Shogun."
The program will feature Ikuta-san's behind-the-scenes looks and surprising true nature. It will also feature rare footage from his appearance on "Tensai Terebi-kun."Hidekazu Mashima, who plays Ieharu, will also appear in the video.
