The eighth episode of the TV drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Saito Takumi, was broadcast on August 26th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 6.3% for households and 3.3% for individuals.
This human mystery is based on the popular Korean drama of the same name (2023). It depicts the story of a kind-hearted but bumbling kidnapper, Shinjo Masamune, played by Saito, and a genius girl with amnesia, Nanase Rin, played by child actress Yuno Nagao, who are being pursued by unidentified men.
In episode 8, Shinjo discovers security camera footage from the Nanase household. His wife, Shiori (played by Yumi Adachi), is caught on the footage! Shinjo and Rin ask for help from detective Tsukasa Sunouchi (played by Yosuke Eguchi). Eventually, Rin's memories of the day of the incident, as well as Shinjo's memories from his childhood, are revealed...
The drama will reach its final episode next week on September 2nd.
